Rains, mud, and headwinds

Twatinaw resort

I’m not going to lie, today was a very hard day. After a full night of rain the gravel road trail, 40km, was slow and arduous. I thought about stopping at Tawatinaw, one of Alberta’s ski resorts, but they were closed-out of season, and maybe Covid. So, I had to give up the trail, head to highway 2 and continue. With headwinds and 3 rain storms, I made the additional 60km to a motel in Athabasca, it was good to get warm and clean.

I’ll have to complete this section another day

Big rains ahead, tonight I am deciding the the route, the Great Canadian trial section will be to muddy to pass. Continue or postpone.
